U13s Yellow - Match Report

A Clean Sheet For Rovers!

(Claire Lawton 08/10/2017)

3    Congleton Rovers JFC U13s Yellow
0    Cuddington

(Match Date: Sunday 8th October 2017)
Sunday 8th October , Congleton Rovers JFC U13’s played Cuddington at home.
Captain Jack Holt kicked off for Congleton Rovers. Both sides were looking equally strong but soon Rovers were taking charge with slick passing round Cuddington Rovers had a early free kick resulting from a hand ball, Holt curled the ball it into the box but un unfortunately it went straight into the keepers arms, but still a convincing start to the game. Congleton weren’t for sitting back, we were back on the attack with Lewis Johnstone running down the wing taking the ball past the Cuddington defence with ease , but he was eluded his reward with the ball just going over the bar. Congletons defence remained solid throughout with a magnificent performance from from Jacob Darton , George Wassall , Bobby Eckersley and Alex Winstanley denying Cuddington any chance of scoring.

With 20 minutes gone Milo James was the first on the score sheet with an excellent assist coming from Lyle Galbraith. Next came a cheeky back heal from Noah Zimmermann to Leo Willcock saved by the Cuddington Keeper. Once again the Congleton side were in full command of the game, but credit to the away team they never let their heads drop.

Kieran Lougheed was giving the Cuddington defence a real headache but was unlucky not to get on the score sheet after some impressive play, supported by the midfield of Holt, Zimmermann, Johnstone and Willcock.

At half time the score was 1-0. The second half came with some exceptional passing. After 47 minutes Congleton were rewarded for their efforts their second goal coming from Tom Owen which dribbled into the bottom right hand corner.

The boys continued to communicate well with Winstanley feeding the ball to James, James wastes no time and belts it in for a brilliant finish and his 2nd goal and Rovers 3rd. It was a busy 2nd half with some notable passing coming from Felix Holland.

Rovers continued to deny Cuddington with further consistant solid defending coming from Reuben Thornden, Jono Clark and a clean sheet for goalie Jack Molloy, Rovers were impassible! Another impressive performance from the U13 side and Man of the Match was awarded to Jono Clark. Job well done!
